Three local players have been named finalists for the Lou Henson award, which is given by CollegeInsider to the top mid-major player in the country. Tommy Brenton of Stony Brook, Jamal Olasewere of LIU Brooklyn and Momo Jones of Iona are all candidates for their conference’s Player of the Year awards as well.
You can see the full list and the official announcement here. While the award will probably ultimately go to Mike Muscala of Bucknell or Doug McDermott of Creighton it’s great for these three local players to be recognized amongst the top 25 players in the mid-major ranks.

Brenton needs another 67 points to be a 1000/1000 (career total points/rebounds) guy. He is at 933/1067 now. I really hope he gets to the milestone. He has about 4-6 games to do it… 2 regular season games, potentially 3 AE tourney games and 1 ncaa (or 1 NIT) game.
Go Seawolves!
